Frequently asked questions
What is Acompny?
Acompny is a London-first membership marketplace for paid, strictly platonic companionship. Members can discover Companions for dinner, culture, events, travel and everyday activities. Companions join free and are paid directly for their time.
Is this a dating app?
No. Acompny is a companionship marketplace and is not a venue for paid intimacy of any kind.
How much does membership cost?
Membership is £19.99/month for Members. Meeting fees are separate: the current standard Companion fee is £50/hour, paid directly to the Companion. Tickets, travel and other expenses are agreed separately. Companions join free and Acompny takes no commission on meeting fees.
How do Companions get paid?
The current standard fee is £50/hour, paid directly between Member and Companion. Acompny does not hold, process or take commission on meeting fees. Agree the rate, duration, expenses and payment arrangement before meeting.
Is Acompny safe?
Companion applications and photos are reviewed before an approved profile goes live. Members and Companions can report or block each other at any time, and repeated reports may trigger restrictions pending review. See the Safety Centre for more detail.
Can Companions decline invitations?
Yes, always. Companions choose whether to accept a connection request and can later accept, decline or suggest changes to a meeting invitation. No work or income is ever guaranteed.
Who can join as a Member?
Any adult (18+). There's no requirement around income, age bracket, or relationship status beyond being an adult who wants good company for an activity.
What makes Acompny different?
Acompny combines reviewed Companion profiles, permission-based connections, private messaging, structured meeting invitations, reporting and blocking, and post-meeting ratings. Verification badges are shown only for checks that have actually been completed.
